After a month in Australia, Jay has returned to Boston and the band is back in the studio working on the new album.

Check out The Douglas Fir at MTV.COM. The Fir's songs were recently used in several MTV shows.

Also, The Douglas Fir are currently featured at www.downloadweed.com.

Looks like the Fir's "Vinyl Singles Archive" CD will be up on Apple iTunes this spring. Stay tuned for
info on that in the coming months. There might also be a repressing of the "Archive" six song CD since the
first batch has nearly sold out. For those of you who have recently written in, there are still a few copies of
the disc available. Get em' while ya can!

Drummer Pete Caldes is doing assorted dates with Juliana Hatfield. Keep yer eyes open for those gigs around the USA.

The Douglas Fir song "An Invitation" was recently used repeatedly in several episodes of MTV's Real World (San Diego).
Keep your ears wide open for the Fir if you happen to be watching any repeats of the Real World series...

The Fir will be playing live with The French Kicks, Calla, and Passsenger in Boston on February 18.
Check out the "shows" page for all the specifics and for info on how to purchase tic's ahead of time.
This show will sell out so we recommend that you pick up a ticket in advance.

In a few weeks time, the Fir's latest album "When This Wears Off" will be up and running on ITUNES.

Jay Walsh will be playing a solo acoustic Douglas Fir show at the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles on Wednesday November 17.

The Fir's debut full length 'When This Wears Off" has been made available for purchase at CDBABY.COM.
There are also sounds samples of every track on the album at the CD BABY site.

The shots were taken by photographer William Anthony when Jay played live on KEXP in June of 2004.

Thanks to everyone who turned up at Piano's and made the New York City show such a stellar evening.
The band is currently working on songs for the next album and will start recording tracks in the coming
months. In the meantime, the Fir will attempt to figure out a way to pay off the $300 speeding ticket they
received while on the road passing through the (not so) lovely state of Connecticut. Send your spare change

Check out the "shows" page for new live August dates in Boston. One of the evenings, August 19, is with our
friends The Everyones from Melbourne, Australia. They are a great band and you should check them out.
The Everyones are currently on tour with Jet and Sloan, and they'll be doing an handfull of headlining dates
on their own around the U.S.A. in August, including the Boston evening with the Fir. We encourage you to come out for this one.

Jay Walsh will be performing live on air as Seattle based radio station KEXP and DJ John in the Morning
broadcast all week from The Museum of T.V and Radio in mid-town Manhattan. Tuesday's broadcast runs from

The Douglas Fir's song "Overcast" was recently featured on MTV 's Road Rules/Real World Challenge Show.

WFNX DJ Paul Driscoll has been spinning The Douglas Fir song "Wherever You Go" on his show Alter Ego with Paul Driscoll.
You can call up and request The Fir weeknights on WFNX from 7 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Paul spins lots of amazing bands and great
music, both new and old. Check it out and tune in....

The new album, "When This Wears Off," is out now at college radio nationally. KEXP in Seattle,
one of the nation's most amazing stations has added the Fir to their playlist. You can listen on line

The Fir will be playing with The Wrens in Boston at T.T. the Bear's on Friday April 9th.
Tickets at Ticketmaster have already sold out for this gig, however there are a few limited
remaining seats available for purchase at the club this week.

In Boston, WMBR and WZBC and WFNX have all been spinning the Fir during the day. Call them up to request a song.

Jay Walsh was recently recognized by ASCAP and received one of their 2003 Popular Music Awards.
Although he can't retire just yet, rumor is that Jay is quite happy to have been acknowledged.

Furthermore, Jay also recently designed the artwork for yet another Richard Thompson live album.

Jay Walsh recently engineered and mixed a song for Mark Robinson (ex-unrest / flin flon).
The song is cover of the Patty Duke track "Come Live with Me" and was released as a 7 inch vinyl single.
It's available through the Teenbeat Records Online store.

Additionally, Jay also recently mixed two tracks on the new Paula Kelley album that is out now on Kimchee Records.
